RAM is starting the year with major news, as the TRX version of its full-size pickup truck is set to return to the market this year.

After slamming the brakes on electrification, Stellantis is finally putting its foot back on the accelerator when it comes to large-displacement engines. In fact, SRT—the brand’s performance division—is celebrating its return to gasoline-powered performance models with a first new offering that is sure to excite pickup truck enthusiasts.

More Power

The TRX will rejoin the Ram 1500 lineup with the arrival of the 2027 model year. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 is not only back—it’s also significantly more powerful. Output is rated at 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, representing an increase of 57 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque over the Ford F-150 Raptor R.

That’s more than enough to allow the RAM TRX 2027 to sprint from 0 to 96 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 190 km/h.

The American automaker pulled out all the stops for its new flagship truck, equipping it with second-generation Bilstein components offering an impressive 14 inches of suspension travel—an enormous figure for the segment. The RAM TRX 2027 will also be fully loaded on the technology front, featuring a 14.5-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Luxury will be part of the equation as well, thanks to a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and dual wireless charging pads—an exclusive in the category.

For Purists

The return of the RAM TRX will be marked by the launch of a new special edition called Bloodshot Night for 2027. This version features numerous carbon-fiber elements, red contrast stitching, and exclusive TRX badging with a red outline.

No official launch date has been announced yet, but the American manufacturer is targeting dealership arrivals in the second half of 2026 for the RAM TRX 2027. Pricing starts at USD $99,995 before destination and preparation fees. Canadian buyers should therefore expect a price north of $130,000, which remains reasonable for a truck of this caliber.
